Sierra Vista Child & Family Services presents a series of training seminars for Parents, Residential Administrators, Group Home Staff, Professionals. All trainings are available to the General Public. Group Home Administrator continuing education units are also offered for many trainings.

 

Shooting Star Trainings

Sierra Vista is pleased to announce the following trainings will be available through the Sierra Vista Training program. Work-Life Balance Workshop

Why is balance important? Without it, we find ourselves running from one event to another unable to slow down long enough to catch our breath. In this workshop you will assess the level of balance in your life and receive tools to improve balance in specific areas of your life. If you are looking for ways to improve your overall health & well-being, increase your impact at work & at home, and have a good time doing it, this is the workshop for you.

Solutions 4 Stress

Millions of people are impacted by the stress of everyday life. In this workshop you will learn more about why decreasing stress in your life is important, things you can do to reduce your stress levels and ways to incorporate them into your daily life. This workshop will allow you the opportunity to examine what works best to reduce stress in your life.

Become a Change Champion

One thing is certain in life, change is always present. No one is exempt from changes that occur in all areas of life.However, we do have a choice in how that change will affect us. In this workshop we will explore the positive aspect of change, what we can gain from using change as an opportunity and tips for becoming a Change Champion in your own life.

Parent and grandparent classes

are available for various needs and ages of children, and include:

Parent Project, Junior (Loving Solutions) is a seven-week course for those with children Kindergarten through age 10.

Parent Project, Senior (Changing Adolescent Destructive Behavior) is a course for those with teens 13 through age 18.

Effective Strategies to Prevent Workplace Violence and Harassment:

Harassment Training

It is now a legal requirement (AB 1825) for all employers (with 50 employees or more) to train supervisors on sexual harassment every two years. This training helps employers avoid conflicts that result in litigation and can also help defend against lawsuits if they arise.

Workplace Violence Training

This training teaches your managers how to respond to workplace violence issues, including reporting and documentation

Group Home Administrator Training

This course is designed for Administrators working in a professional capacity within a CCL licensed facility. The course will prepare you not only for the CCL state exam but also for the issues and challenges Administrators face daily.

Dates:

October 2nd, 11th, 16th, and 23rd

Time: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Location: 1400 K Street, Modesto, CA

Cost: $250 per person
