In
September Sierra Vista honors those who
distinguish themselves in their service
to others as Champions for Children.
In
2008 Sierra Vista celebrated these Champions
for Children that have dedicated their
time and efforts towards improving the
lives of children and families in our
area. The evening was an exciting and
uplifting event that warmed the hearts
about the present and future of children
and families in need.

Steve Gikas, Family & Friends
Christmas Party for
Sierra Vista Children
December 4, 2008
The Gikas family, owners of California Nuggets and Golden Gate Nut Company, will host a Christmas Party for the children of Sierra Vista. All the food is provided and prepared, and the presents purchased and wrapped, by the Gikas family, their friends and volunteers from the community. The event is held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, which donates the space.
Emceeing the 2007 event was KCRA Channel 3's Reporter Sharokina Shams. Also making an appearance were Wally the Walnut (from the Modesto Nuts Baseball Club) and several other local mascots.
The event also utilizes volunteers to serve dinner to each child (and their family) and Sierra Vista's Board of Directors delivers the presents (on behalf of Santa) to each child.
Sierra Vista sincerely appreciates this very generous (and tasty) gift.
