The ride began last year with registration at Merced Powersports, 265 W. 15th Street in Merced, and visited several locations before ending with a barbecue and other festivities at the Castle Air Base in Atwater. Backing all the festivities will be live music provided by "FCA". Registration was $15 in advance ($10 for riders) and $20 day of the event ($15 for riders). This year Sierra Vista will also be celebrating the organization's 35th Anniversary. Planning for the evening promises an exciting and uplifting event that will warm hearts about the past and inspire about the future. The 2006 Awards Dinner highlighted Sierra Vista's Outpatient Counseling program. The story of one family's struggle was shared, and the great strides made by the children were celebrated. The evening also included awards presented in various categories to groups and individuals who have made a significant impact on Sierra Vista or Modesto and the Central Valley. GOLDEN WEST NUTS, INC. CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR SIERRA VISTA CHILDREN December 4, 2008 Golden West Nuts (led by Steve Gikas) hosts a Christmas Party for the children of Sierra Vista. All the food is provided and prepared, and the presents purchased and wrapped, by volunteers from Golden West Nuts and the community. The event is held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, which donates the space. Emceeing the 2007 event was KCRA Channel 3's Reporter Sharokina Shams. Also making an appearance were Wally the Walnut (from the Modesto Nuts Baseball Club) and several other local mascots. The event also utilizes volunteers to serve dinner to each child (and their family) and Sierra Vista's Board of Directors delivers the presents (on behalf of Santa) to each child. For more about Golden West Nuts, click here   PO'G MAHON CHILDREN'S TOY RUN December 15, 2007 Each year the member's of the Po'g Mahon Motorcycle Club work toward their annual Sierra Vista Children's Christmas Toy Run to bring the children of Sierra Vista a Christmas that they may not otherwise have. Since 1992 our organization has relied on the good will of its membership to volunteer their time, effort and monetary contributions to bring a successful Christmas to the children of Sierra Vista.
